Product Description
The Stellmacher Nylon Monofilament Ophthalmic Surgical Sutures USP 9/0 feature an ultra-fine, non-absorbable black nylon thread paired with a precision 5mm, 3/8-circle round-bodied surgical needle. Designed for delicate tissue approximation, controlled needle handling, and precise stitch placement, these sutures provide a fine suture configuration for specialized ophthalmic and microsurgical applications.
Each suture includes 30cm (approximately 12 inches) of black nylon monofilament thread attached to a fine surgical needle. The USP 9/0 (0.3 Metric) size supports precision suturing techniques where minimal suture diameter and careful tissue handling are important. Supplied in sterile, single-use packaging, with 12 sutures per box.
Key Features
- Ultra-Fine USP 9/0 Suture: Fine 0.3 Metric nylon monofilament supports precise stitch placement and delicate tissue approximation.
- Ophthalmic Microsurgical Configuration: Fine suture diameter and compact needle geometry facilitate controlled handling in suitable ophthalmic and microsurgical procedures.
- Non-Absorbable Nylon Monofilament: Smooth, single-strand synthetic nylon material provides tissue support without being designed for absorption by the body.
- 5mm Round-Bodied Needle: Fine, non-cutting needle profile designed for controlled passage through suitable delicate soft tissues.
- 3/8-Circle Needle Curvature: Compact curved needle facilitates precise maneuverability in confined surgical working areas.
- 30cm Black Suture Thread: Provides visual contrast and a practical working length for fine suturing techniques.
- Low Capillarity: Monofilament construction limits fluid wicking compared with many braided suture materials.
- EO Sterilized & Single Use: Sterile, single-use sutures supplied in a convenient box of 12.

Applications & Usage
- Ophthalmic Surgery: Suitable for consideration in selected delicate ophthalmic tissue approximation procedures where fine non-absorbable nylon sutures and round-bodied needle geometry are indicated.
- Ophthalmic Microsurgery: Ultra-fine suture diameter and compact needle configuration support controlled handling during appropriate precision ophthalmic suturing techniques.
- Delicate Soft Tissue Approximation: Round-bodied needle construction supports careful passage through suitable soft tissues without the cutting edges found on reverse-cutting needles.
- Specialized Microsurgical Procedures: May be selected for suitable microsurgical closure techniques requiring fine, non-absorbable monofilament suture material.
- Ophthalmic Surgical Training: Supports fine suturing practice, microsurgical needle control, and knot-tying exercises on compatible training models, where consistent with the product's intended use.
