Product Description

Mosquito Kocher Hemostatic Forceps – Straight, 18 cm

The Reusable Mosquito Kocher Hemostatic Forceps are precision surgical instruments designed for clamping blood vessels, supporting hemostasis, and securely grasping tissue during professional medical and veterinary procedures. This variant features a straight jaw profile, an overall length of 18 cm, and 1×2 interlocking teeth at the working tip.

The combination of serrated jaws and terminal teeth provides a firm, controlled grip on vessels and comparatively tough tissue. Finger-ring handles offer familiar handling, while the integrated ratchet locking mechanism helps maintain the selected clamping pressure without continuous manual compression.

Key Features

  • Straight Jaw Profile: Supports direct access and clear alignment during vessel clamping and tissue handling.
  • 1×2 Terminal Teeth: Provide secure tissue purchase and help reduce instrument slippage.
  • Serrated Jaws: Enhance grip when clamping vessels or holding tissue.
  • Ratchet Lock: Maintains the selected clamping pressure during use.
  • Finger-Ring Handles: Provide controlled, familiar, and stable handling.
  • 18 cm Length: Offers extended reach while maintaining practical maneuverability.
  • Reusable Construction: Designed for repeated cleaning, inspection, and sterilization cycles.
  • Surgical Stainless Steel: Provides strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion.

Applications and Intended Usage

  • Clamping blood vessels to assist with hemostasis
  • Temporarily controlling blood flow during surgical procedures
  • Grasping and holding fascia or comparatively firm tissue
  • Assisting with vessel isolation, dissection, and ligation
  • Holding tissue during general surgical procedures
  • Medical, dental, clinical, and veterinary instrument sets

How to Use

Disengage the ratchet lock and open the jaws before positioning the instrument. Place the straight jaws around the intended vessel or tissue under direct visualization. Close the handles gradually and engage only the ratchet level necessary to obtain a secure hold.

Because the working tip contains teeth, excessive clamping pressure should be avoided. The instrument should be selected and operated only by appropriately trained medical, surgical, dental, or veterinary professionals.

Cleaning, Inspection and Sterilization

  • Clean and decontaminate the instrument promptly after each procedure.
  • Remove biological residue carefully from the jaw serrations, terminal teeth, joint, and ratchet.
  • Keep the instrument in an open position during cleaning and sterilization when required by the validated protocol.
  • Inspect jaw alignment, teeth engagement, serrations, joint movement, and ratchet function before each use.
  • Apply a surgical instrument-compatible lubricant to the moving joint when required.
  • Sterilize according to the manufacturer’s instructions and the facility’s validated sterilization protocol.
  • Allow the instrument to dry completely before storage.
  • Store in a clean, dry, and protected environment.

Professional Use Notice: This surgical instrument is intended for use by trained healthcare and veterinary professionals. Do not use the instrument if corrosion, loose joints, damaged teeth, jaw misalignment, or defective ratchet engagement is observed.
